Here is what the Declaration of Independence says about Taxes… Government gets its just power from the consent of the Governed. Since taxation is a form of power, then all taxation must be agreed upon by the people. Any tax the people do not approve of is, by definition, unjust. One of the long list of abuses by King George listed in the Declaration is, “For imposing Taxes upon us without our Consent.”
