13 Jan Illegal Immigration is a Problem in America
Illegal immigration is a problem in America. It is fundamentally unfair to immigrants who wish to come here legally and are prevented from doing so quickly. It is a burden on our economy as illegal immigrants take jobs that would otherwise have been available to American citizens. Illegal immigrants who don’t find work end up taking government benefits, costing American taxpayers. And, the failure to enforce our current immigration laws undermines the rule of law itself. As President Teddy Roosevelt said, “Law must be based upon justice, else it cannot stand, and it must be enforced with resolute firmness, because weakness in enforcing it means in the end that there is no justice and no law.”
